At dbHMS, we rely on Mechanical Engineer Interns to assist senior engineers and designers on project related tasks while they learn and advance their skills. The tasks associated with this position include drafting, calculations, and designing system components under supervision. Candidates must be able to perform basic drafting, and be pursuing a degree in a field related to Mechanical Engineering and possess a fundamental knowledge of HVAC systems. They will learn as they work to help senior engineers complete calculations, studies reports and drawings.Essential Job Functions • Operate AutoCAD • Read and understand construction documents, floor plans and equipment details • Operate computer software such as Microsoft Office programs to perform engineering tasks. • Assist in the design of HVAC systems under supervision. • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as neededFlexible Job Functions • Operate Revit • Perform energy modeling or operate other specialized software
Requirements • Applicant must be enrolled at an accredited university in the Bachelor of Science mechanical engineering degree program • GPA 3.5 or higher • Applicant must be legally allowed to work in the United States for any length of time • Applicant must have excellent written and verbal skills • Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions • Basic engineering or construction background
