Eaton has announced that the Call for Entries for the 39th Annual SOURCE Awards National Lighting Design Competition is now open. The program offers awards at both the professional lighting designer level and at the student level. All entries can be submitted through the competition’s new portal at The Lighting reSOURCE.

The competition is open to all lighting designers, architects, engineers, professional designers, and consultants who use Eaton’s lighting and controls products. Students currently enrolled in any of these disciplines are also eligible to enter projects based on conceptual lighting designs utilizing Eaton’s products, and are judged in a separate student category. According to the guidelines, “Projects are judged on the blending of aesthetics, creative achievement, and technical performance and the degree to which the lighting met project constraints and design concept goals.”

The SOURCE Awards were originally established by Cooper Lighting in 1977 to further “… the understanding, knowledge and function of lighting as a primary element in design.” Judging will take place in February 2016 and the winners will be announced at a luncheon during Lightfair 2016 to be held in San Diego.
